Pure essential oils have been around for centuries, used by many different cultures. Essentials oils have been used in religious rituals to treat various illnesses and for other physical and spiritual needs and they are now used in modern medicine today. Essential oils have a list of different ways they can be used. Essential oils can be inhaled or applied topically to the skin,they can be used as an alternative treatment for infections, stress and other health problems. They can be added to your bath, diffuser, candles, perfumes, shampoo, soap, cleaning products, lotions, incense, etc.

1. Lavender, clary sage, and chamomile can all be inhaled to boost relaxation. Cinnamon for focusing, and citrus cents to help keep you energized.

2. For a natural mood enhancer, use lemon, grapefruit, cinnamon, or peppermint.

3. Dab a little peppermint on your temples for a natural headache remedy.

4. Lavender essential can be used to help relieve insect bites and heal smalls cuts or wounds.

5. Rub eucalyptus on your chest for sinus decongestant and to reduce cough symptoms.

6. Create a mixture of lavender and tea tree oil to relieve athletes foot.

7. Freshen up your laundry by adding lemon or essential oil of your choice to wash.

8. Make homemade cleaners with essential oils. Use ten drops to a quart of vinegar with scents like lemon, citrus, lavender, eucalyptus, and even rose.

9. Put a couple drops of lavender in the tub for a calming, relaxing bath.

10. “Make your own salt or sugar scrubs with essential oils. Cover 1 cup salt or brown sugar with almond, sesame or apricot kernel oils, or a mix. The oil should cover the salt about ¼ to ½ and inch. 16. Homemade mouthwash, Mix ½ cup vodka (or distilled water if you don’t want alcohol), two teaspoons of baking soda and 4-6 drops of either peppermint, spearmint, clove, cinnamon, tea tree, lavender, lemon, grapefruit. You can also make a combination of different oils if you choose.

17. Try your own DIY deodorant and cut out toxins like propylene glycol. “Melt three tablespoons of coconut oil and two tablespoons of either shea or cacao butter. Mix in 3 tablespoons baking soda and 20 drops of your favorite essential oils. For an uplifting aroma try lemon or grapefruit and for a more calming scent try rose, geranium or lavender. Store in a glass jar and use fingers to apply.”

* As with all essential oils, never use them undiluted. Do not take internally unless working with a qualified and expert practitioner. Keep away from children. If applying an essential oil to your skin always perform a small patch test to an insensitive part of the body (after you have properly diluted the oil in an appropriate carrier).
