Simply add a pinch of turmeric, teaspoon of jaggery and a pinch of black pepper to a glass of milk, then boil for five minutes. Turmeric can also be incorporated into a number of healthy recipes, smoothies, fruit juices, tea and more!

Clove and honey: Clove and honey combined possess powerful antibacterial properties for throat pain. Not only do these ingredients relieve itching, but they also offer relief from pain and may help lower the risk of throat infections. Place a pod of clove in a spoonful of honey, let sit overnight and consume it the next morning. You can also add honey to clove tea, or make your own honey and clove tea mixture.

Fenugreek water: This remedy is believed to offer quick relief to sore throats. Fenugreek seeds have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties that can help fight sore throats and colds. For this method, add two tbsp of fenugreek seeds to a liter of water and let boil. Once the water begins to change color, remove from heat, let cool and gargle up to two times daily.

These healing properties actually stop bacterial growth and sooth the lining of the throat, aiding in a quick recovery. You will need pomegranate peel powder for this remedy. Simply boil 1 tsp of the powder with one liter of water, cool and gargle twice a day.

Herbal kadha: Whether you’re experiencing a sore throat or cough, kadha can offer relief. Due to the powerful anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, this herbal remedy can boost immunity, and offer relief. For every two cups of water, add 5-6 tulsi leaves, an inch of ginger, one stick of cinnamon, 4 cloves and 2 black peppercorns. Allow the ingredients to boil, once the volume has lowered to about half, strain, add a drop of honey and drink warm.
