Many of us are convinced that we need to spend a lot in order to get the best products available, but that’s not always the case. Expensive store bought products may help your skin on the outside but they often contain harmful, toxic chemicals. What we put on our skin is just as important as what we out inside our bodies. Try out these 6 homemade body care tips below:

1. Oral Care

Improper oral care can lead to concerning health issues like gingivitis and even heart disease. Natural toothpaste is safe and effective with a little baking soda, coconut oil, water, and a few drops of essential oil of choice, like peppermint, clove, cinnamon or thyme.

2. Shampoo

Many shampoos not only contain chemicals but they also strip our hair of it’s natural oils. Mix together one-part vinegar, 2 parts baking soda, half part lemon juice. The scrub should be a thick paste. If you can’t part with your normal shampoo, try mixing half and half withe the homemade shampoo.

3. Conditioner

Coconut, avocado, almond, and sesame oil are all incredibly nutritious for hair care. Massage oil of choice into hair and scalp and gently rinse out, leave on for a couple hours or overnight. This will naturally moisturize your head and scalp.

4. Lotion

The majority of lotions today are made with chemicals and scented with artificial fragrances that can cause damage to the body inside and out. Natural moisturizers benefit your skin as well as mind and body. Great natural moisturizers include: coconut oil, cacao butter, Shea butter, and jojoba oil. For a natural fragrance and a few drops of your favorite essential oil.

5. Deodorant

Deodorants contain toxic ingredients and are one of the more dangerous personal care products. In fact, many of them are known to contain cancer-causing agents, which also stops natural function. Baking soda, coconut oil, and essential oils work great together as natural deodorizers.

6. Skin Care

Store-bought facial care is usually ineffective and harmful. Natural oils are moisturizing, cleansing, and balancing. Apple cider vinegar works relieves acne, jojoba and coconut oil both cleanse and moisturize skin, and sea buckthorn oil gives the skin a natural glow.

I love the fact that It is very important what exactly manufactures are using in the skin care products as much as we use on our skin. Natural products are the best way to decrease harm for the skin.
